Graduation

Ethan had his graduation this past week and we were able to have grandparents attend it, but Steve wasn't able to be there because he had already started working down south. It turned out to be a great night and Ethan performed wonderfully!!! Our son is a entertainer and loves to be the star of the show. Sharifa got a video of the program and wanted to post it, but she couldn't get it to go. We'll have to post the video another time. Here are some pictures from his graduation. Congrates to a little man for doing such a great job on his program and working so hard in school this year. He is a young one this year and will be doing preschool again in the fall. We know that he will have lots of fun though going back to his great teachers!
Here's our little graduate.

Introducing...

Layla Sharie Phillips. Born on the 18th of May! Coming into the world at a whopping 6 pounds 9 ounces and is 19 inches long! We really are so grateful to have a such a healthy and happy baby in our family and we really enjoy her sweet personality. She is really a great little baby and doesn't cause lots of head-ache. She just lets her siblings take care of that! Sharifa started feeling contractions while at the movie the night before and we are grateful that we didn't decide to wait a whole other week to have her. She was ready to come out and join our family. It has been a crazy weekend trying to get the other kids to spend some one-on-one time with Dad while mom was stuck in the hospital. Steve has gone down south to do his internship and we all miss having him around. We have been counting the days till he will be home to spend a little time with us before going back again. Here are the pictures we were able to get at the hospital of everyone that was able to come and visit us while we were there. Thanks you to those who came and spent some time with us, even though we don't have pictures of you all, we really do appreciate the time you took to come and visit.! We are grateful for the great people that are apart of our lives (friends and family members).
 Here is a before picture.
After. When she first came out she didn't make a sound. It really scared Sharifa a lot.

The Queen and the Princess getting in some beauty sleep. Layla was in her tutu waiting to get her picture taken. The photographer never came when she said she would and we left later that day. Poor little girl was stuck in her tutu for a while!! They were both very worn out and needed to get all the sleep possible before having to go home and take care of the older siblings.

BIG NEWS!!!!

No, we haven't had the little firecracker yet, but our news is really exciting for our family. For those of you who haven't heard yet Steve got an internship down south. We are really excited because it is good pay plus there is a chance that it could turn into a full time job when he gets done with school! That means we wouldn't have to travel too far and won't be too far away from family, which would make both our families so happy. There is only one downside to Steve being gone all summer long. That would be that we are having our new baby in a few weeks and right after we get out of the hospital Steve starts his new internship. That means Sharifa gets to raise three crazy firecrackers all by herself for the summer time. Oh well, it's our turn to make a few sacrifices now and we feel that in the end it will be the best decision for our family. We have been praying for something like this, we just didn't think about us having to live separate from each other. It will only be for 12 weeks and Steve will be able to come home on the weekends to spend some time with us plus put in some hours at Walmart. He will also be able to go to church with us on Sundays and help us be more reverent during church. We are so grateful for all the many blessing that our Heavenly Father gives us every day and for giving us this grate opportunity to make our family life better!!
WAY TO GO STEVE!!!!!

Easter

The Saturday before Easter Sharifa's parents were able to come and spend sometime with us and we were able to have lunch together. They also stayed to help color eggs with the kids, which they really enjoyed having all the attention. On Easter Sunday Steve was able to come to church with us for the first time in a while, but that meant he wouldn't be able to come to his parents house for dinner that night. Sharifa and the kids went to Brigham to spend sometime with Grandma Colleen and Grandpa Mike, they sure had lots of fun playing outside in the warm weather! We all enjoyed the holiday weekend and are so grateful for the gift of life that was given to us from our Heavenly Father. We are also grateful for Jesus Christ and the Atonement so that we will some day be able to leave with him and our Heavenly Father some day. We hope you all had a very enjoyable holiday weekend. Here are some pictures of the fun we were able to have.
Getting started with the egg coloring. The kids were both really excited to color eggs.
Daisy wanting to eat one of the hard boiled egg, so she took a bite and found out it was a little crunchy. She didn't mind, but mom thought it might be a little better to take off the shell first.
